Sustainability, Simplicity, and Unusual Beauty

👋MEET THE MAKER

Designer Maggie Wicht received her Masters of Industrial and Product Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.  She worked for furniture companies and sustainability firms in New York City before giving it all up to become a mother and move to sunny California.  Kohli Kraft began in 2017 in the South Bay area utilizing locally reclaimed woods from furniture and instrument workshops. In 2020 she moved back to her hometown in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina and works out of a historic barn. She loves to be able to spend time honing her woodcraft skills and spending time outdoors with her daughter, imparting her passion for sustainability and the beauty of the natural world to the next generation.

🌿PROCESS

All our earrings are reclaimed wood from local furniture and instrument makers. We bend the wood using steam to create twists and curves. We gild the wood with 24K gold leaf or pure silver (more pure than sterling). The wood is protected with non-toxic eco finish. Each step is done 100% by hand, by Maggie, in a big red barn deep in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina.
